Back to School with Kinder
Well, this week, the last of the kids went back to school for all of those families in the US with children that age. My youngest just turned 20 in July so I am way beyond this stage.
And Yes, I did start having kids when I was 12, thank you…..
(no, not really, but thank you so much for thinking I could not possibly be old enough to have three 20-something kids)….
Anyway, back to this post — This is all about Heather Ross’s new line, Kinder…..Obviously done in honor of her daughter starting kindergarten…….but you can read that as KIND-er too….like we all should be to each other in spite of our differences ….. a word we could all use more these days.
So Normally I am not really into Juvenile prints – especially now that my kids are grown up… but this is Stinkin’ cute Heather Ross stuff!!
This fabric is OF COURSE insanely excellent. I would say that the kids in the classroom situations is my Least favorite print, but that is only because personally I am not at that stage of Child-rearing anymore…..and TOO SOON for grandparenting, thank you very much. 🙂 I am sure many of you will find this print YOUR favorite!
But these APPLES are Awesome! As are the flowers and the frogs!
And even though the kid print is not my favorite, it makes for a great “cover” for a Tall Tales Block by Kate Basti, doesn’t it??
And here is an Alphabet book!
Kids reading books in a book…. seemed just right…. 🙂
And of course, a field guide to Flowers and Fruit……
Okay…. one final parting shot — check out this alphabet print!! — just look at Heather’s fun variations! Sure, she’s got Zebra for Z and Alligator for A…..
But GNOME for G?? Awesome!
and DANDELION for D?? Delightful!!
And you can just barely make it out, but NEWT for N?? Nifty!!
I am Moonstruck by this alphabet! (or Mushroom-struck as the “upper”case may be)
And yes this post is completely a Teaser, because the fabric won’t be out until February 2018, but you can get on a Wishlist for it here!!
That’s it for today….now go make some stuff! and Dream of this stuff, waiting for it to hit your local Quilt Shop someday soon!
Keep Sewing, Keep Happy!
