One Fabric Nation! Atrium
Time Again for One Fabric Nation! It IS August 36th, right?? (This was supposed to be done in August….so I am going with the 36th….that’s okay with you right?)
This month’s new line is Atrium by Joel Dewberry for Free Spirit.
Here’s the Free Spirit sales pitch on the line:
Light, bright, fresh and uplifting, Atrium is this season’s personal sanctuary of bold motifs that are both organic and modern. Inspired by the meticulous details of private garden settings, this collection captures the beauty of flora, architecture and atmosphere with pop and style.
And here are a bunch of shots I took of the prints. There are a lot of my favorite kind of “solids” in here.
NON-solid solids. I Love all of the “blenders” in this line.
Of course there are regular strong graphic florals in the line too.
And this “ombre” honeycomb print? LOVE IT! Check out the way it worked out around one of the blocks below. TOO COOL!
These last too prints are my favorites in the line. You knew Joel had to have birds in it, right? I love them mixed in with these 70’s vibe clouds. And dotted rain.
So for the project to go with this line, I had been looking at my copy of this block by Katy Jones for Aurifil‘s Designer of the Month Block for April 2013. I had two blocks to make for a friend’s baby quilt collaboration, so I thought that I could nab two birds with one stone by getting these blocks done in Atrium for this post.
See what I mean about that honeycomb ombre print?
Here’s a quick link to the block pattern.
So this line is available in shops sometime in September….wait that’s this month, right? (Yeah, I KNOW it’s not really August 36th….really I know) So go grab yourself some Atrium while you still can! And check back here next week in September 🙂 I’ll have another post and another sample block or two using Atrium and who knows what else?? (just be sure you check that post out, you’ll want to see it AND comment on it!)
P.S. I did actually make a little flipagram video for my Instagram account here on August 31st (so officially still in the REAL August)
