Day Five! We are almost halfway through people!!
Okay so today’s block is by Jackie Kunkel. You can read her interview with Pat Sloan here. And the directions to her block are here. This block? easy peasy!! nice to have one like this when doing all of these at once. And I thought it was fun how really different these blocks looked just by varying the color placement.
The new line from Michael Miller is Jug or Not. In the block below, it is deliciously busy, and it may be too busy for a lot of you in the future blocks just because the scale is so large. I picked this line because I thought it was a good contrast to the Wee Wander line, and for certain people, it would strike a chord. It is VERY retro, and very much reminds me of stuff I remember seeing when I was little. I think even if you don’t like this line in quilts, it is very fun for larger home decor items. You will have to decide on that. I am thinking it will make some fun placemats for after Christmas. Funky and Fun.
So on to the blocks themselves.
Here is the Kona block done up in—in Valentine, Bonsai, and Shale:
Here is the second Joel Dewberry True Colors from Free Spirit Block (Again, Love, love, love this bark blender…even blendier in the grey):
Here is the first Jug or Not From Michael Miller Block:
Here is the Grunge From Moda block (yes, this is the same pattern. I just used background fabrics in different places than Jackie originally did):
And here are the Aurifil threads of the day (4668 and 2335):
So same story as before leave a comment here for the daily prize and you will also be eligible for the grand prizes at the end of the series. And to get more chances for the grand prizes and the other daily prizes, leave comments on the past 12 Days of Color posts as well as the future ones. Your comment can be about the fabrics, the blocks, the threads, what you are doing for Christmas or any other upcoming holiday (like my 5oth birthday…it is a national holiday in February, truly, it is…....can you guess which one?? hint- NOT Valentines Day) Comment away!
I am off to try to sneak some more sewing in before I have to skedaddle off to the Day Job!
