Aurifil Designers of the Month – 2018 –
It is my honor to be part of the Aurifil Designers of the Month for 2018 – such a talented group of people!
If you haven’t hear of this program, Pat Sloan has been organizing designers of all kinds for years to create a block or mini quilt or some other creative needle work for many years now for the Aurifil blog and the world!
This year the theme is “The Places We Go.” Each designer will be presenting a 12 1/2″ (unfinished) block in Black/White/and A Color. Each block will be based on a place that designer has visited or wants to visit. I think it will be fun seeing all of the different interpretations of this theme, don’t you?
Additionally, Pat will be interviewing everyone on the theme and other areas, so you will get to know each designer just a little more. If you know them already, you will get to know them better. If they are new to you, well, then you’ll be meeting some Fantastic People!!
Meet The Aurifil Designers of the Month!
Here’s the list of the Designers and their month – be sure to visit them at their home base as well as the Aurifil blog.

Katja Marek’s block will be posted on the Aurifil blog soon, so watch over there for the post, her interview and her block. I will be doing my best to sew along with you and all of the Aurifil Designers of the Month, making their blocks as we go. During the first part of the year, I will be using new Banyan Batiks by my friend Karen Gibbs and maybe some solids. When I can reveal my new line for Banyan, I will use my designs the rest of the year (probably mixed with Karen’s and some solids as well). I will be posting my blocks on Instagram at least; I may get some blog posts in too. But Instagram is sooooo much more convenient for me to get the photos out there!
For those of you thinking that my block will be Black, White, and Blue, you will be in for a big surprise!
So I hope you are ready for 12 little mini-vacations in the studio with the Aurifil Designers of the Month team!
Keep Sewing, Keep Happy,
