Splendid Sampler – Block 65

Splendid Sampler – Block 65

Hey there! Remember the Splendid Sampler project that I was talking about earlier in the year?
Well, I am finally getting back to it. Today I have block 65  from Siobhan Rogers. Here is the link to the Splendid Sampler site. You can find the pattern there.

There are a lot of tiny pieces in this one. There was a paper-pieced option that I did not use, but I think I would use it next time just to keep things a little bit better controlled. That or spray starch. Or both!

My points are not all that great on this one. Good enough, but far from perfect!

What do you think of the little leaf bowl full of Aurifil thread? That bowl is actually 1950’s California pottery (love all of that stuff!!) – it came from Mom’s stuff that Dad didn’t want anymore, he is not into the knickknacks like Mom was. I like it a lot. I don’t necessarily remember it that much growing up. It might have come from my Mom’s Mom’s stuff. Sure is pretty though. In a fifties kitschy way.

I am posting this Monday night. During the Debate……so not sure anyone will even notice it when I post it. I did have a bunch of other blocks done for the Splendid Sampler this spring AHEAD of the actual dates. I will be posting those in the next few days. And if that isn’t busy enough for you, I am posting the blocks that I am making from Tula Pink’s City Sampler  in plaids, wovens and solids on Instagram too. Check them out there. Eventually I will get a bunch of them together and post them here too.  I am calling it my #lumberjack quilt and hashtagging #madforplaid as well!  🙂

And that cleaning project? Well it is going on slowly but surely, but I don’t have any pictures for the blog yet. You might seem some progress shots on Instagram if you want to check them out there.

That’s it for today, peeps.

Keep Sewing, Keep Happy,

Scott
