Sunday Drive and Mini New Glory

Sunday Drive and Mini New Glory

The Incredible Pat Sloan sent me some of her Sunday Drive line for Moda – sheesh, a couple of months ago (WHERE DOES TIME GO??) And I have been meaning to work it into a couple of different projects. Never happened. Obviously.

But the other day, I thought what fun it would be to make a MINI version of my New Glory quilt for the summer. And these cuts had some great Red, Whites, and Blues……So I made a mini 6″ block to go out there as a bonus block for The Splendid Sampler.

You can download instructions for the block by clicking here.

Still lovin’ my country’s colors even though I think we really do still need to get our act together here in the U.S. — That’s about as political as you will hear me get in this forum.

=========================

I also really liked the green prints that Pat sent as well:

Particularly this green print with the red and blue flowers — it is my favorite in the bunch.

Anyway, I played around using the mushroom and green prints in the Mini New Glory Block – none of them are as strong as the red, white, and blue one. But sometimes, I personally like a “mushy” block that it  not as bold. What about you?

this green is closer to the real thing!

color is a little off in this photo – my apologies!

And then I made more of these little Treat Bags designed by Monica Solario-Snow many moons ago. They are still my standard go-to class party favor. I still never tire of making them….Although I do have another 30+ to make for my classes in Quilters Affair (IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS NOW!!!)

And then back to another shot with my Mighty Mouse and Uncle Sam Pez…..just because I love this shot!   hahahahaha

That’s it for today peeps.  I have to go sew some more tote bags this tonight and tomorrow…. and celebrate Father’s Day number 2 because my boys couldn’t be home for the Real Father’s Day weekend.

Keep Sewing, Keep Happy,
Scott

    Love the Mini New Glory block. I made one as a belated celebration of Flag Day, which is very special to me. Will post a picture soon.

  • That’s a great block. I love the boldness of the Red, White & Blue myself. I should make a big bag like that. Thanks for the bonus block.
