Day Eleven #12DaysofColor!
Almost the end of the year and almost the end of the 12 Days of Color. Looks like they are going to pretty much align themselves, huh? So today I have these pictures of the prizes packs. These are the main Grand Prizes that I will pull winners from all comments on New Years Day in the afternoon after I take the Christmas decorations down (minus some chunks for daily winners as needed {see below}). These packs are mostly Fat Quarterish chunks…some are larger, some are smaller, some are only Fat Eighths. They were just cut from what I received, and all were not even. There are 17 fabric packs of various sizes and the one Big Aurifil pack.
In addition to the Grand Prizes pictured above, two Fat Quarter packs of Kona solids will be sent directly from Robert Kaufman Fabrics.
For the “daily” prizes I will pull one winner from each day’s comments to win one of these Aurifil Big Spools:
Along with the thread, I will pull a fat quarter-ish piece or two from the above bundles. Some of the Daily prizes will get scrap packs from this pile (mostly the fabrics from the 12 Days of Color, but I see a few in there from the previous Maple Leaf posts) instead of the big chunks, it will be the luck of the day.
So if you missed a day be sure that you go back and catch it. Please try to not double comment on each day out of fairness to others. If I notice more than one comment, I will try to combine them into one…..but honestly, I am trusting you all to be honest about this as well….
Okay so Today’s block is by Laurie Tigner, whom I had the pleasure of meeting in Houston this last fall, ever so briefly. Here is her interview with Pat Sloan and here are the directions for her block.
Here is the Kona block done up in — in Pewter and Pool (I messed with the color placement in the corners on this one):
Here is the second Anna Maria Horner True Colors from Free Spirit Block:
Here is the third Blue And White From Michael Miller Block:
Here is the Grunge From Moda block:
And here are the Aurifil threads of the day (4648 and 4012):
So now you know the prizes….are you even more excited than before!? I hope so! Okay… so comment away! And remember tomorrow’s the last day of the series and the year…BUT That doesn’t mean you have to leave me all alone!! In January, I am going to be busily cleaning up around here as well as writing up my first three patterns to sell which just happen to also be for three of the classes that I will be teaching this coming summer in Sisters, Oregon. A Shangri-La of quilting events if ever I’ve been to one!

It’s so fun to see the different blocks every day, and the different Auafil! I was lucky enough to get a couple of spools for Christmas, but nothing like that awesome prize box you’re giving away.

Holy moly how can you have all that fabric and thread near you and not be a gibbering, drooling fool? I sure would be! Amazing and generous – wow! And todays blocks are great – love that fussy cut bird!

I love Anna Maria Horner’s fabrics, and for sure that block. But today is also the blue and white birdie block really cute. Thank you for all this inspiration on using different colours and fabrics. Some of them are fabrics I have never tried, but certainly will do.
Karen Miller
Loving the Blue and White bird from Michael Miller! Congrats on the teaching event at Sisters! How very exciting… Happy New Year!

Pewter and Pool go so well together, all shades of aqua have always been my favourite choice for a lot of things.
Vicki H

Love this block in True Colors!

This is the most awesome block! Each one was beautifully presented, and the thread, breathtaking. I have just recently realized how cool the varigated threads are, and while I have a blue and violet, I’ve never even seen Orange! OMG! I wish I had a tiny bit of what you have a whole lot of, confidence, talent, and “sticktoittiveness”.
Cecilia
All of your blocks look great today. I do like the way your Kona block looks. The prizes look great! Thanks for all of the fun.
Becky Greene
What great prize packs!! Thanks for all your hard work! Anna Maria Horner fabrics certainly do make stunning blocks! I am making a city sampler with her fabrics and sometimes worry about scale or pattern, but they always turn out so well. The saturated colors, I think…. Love that fussy-cut bird, too – just perfect!
Kathy
love each of these and of course the prizes look fabulous! Glad to know I will be in good company taking down my Christmas decorations. I take it you will be in Sisters for their annual quilt show. Hopefully I can make it this year. I”ve only been there once but loved it.
Yup, I’ll be there! And I am super Thrilled to be there again!!

Apparently I am really into blue and white. I love the bird in the center!
Joy
Wow, what a pile of fabric goodness! I’m normally not a big fan of browns, but today’s “Threads of the Day” are beautiful together. I really should play with variegated threads more, I always love how they look on the spools.
Mara
I like the way you messed with the placement on the Kona block, but the Blue and White fabric is my favorite, love the fussy cut bird.
Maryellen
Love the fussy cut center in Blue and White, and the frame look in Anna Maria Horner’s fabric. Great prizes!! Thanks so much for doing this.

They are fabulous. I’m going to make a quilt for my new apartment and can’t wait to try them all! I love rainbows and now have an excuse to use so many colors.
Heidi
This is one of my favorite blocks of the series, and I love all four this time!
Crystal Flemmer
Love all the blocks, as usual. But there is something pretty cool about the true colors AMH block. Really draws me in. Also, I just got my Quilter’s Affair class list and your classes look fantastic! Great offerings, Scott. 🙂
Judy Hood
I am new to quilting and am enjoying all the new designs and colors. Want to try a square in each one! My two favorites are “true colors” so spring like and the “blue and white” however, I am partial to horses so I would probably substitute…but of course everyone would use their own colors regardless. Beautiful work by all!
Margaret
I’m having a hard time choosing my favorite today. I just love the True Colors fabrics you used, but that fussy cut bird is so pretty…. And the Grunge colors and Kona colors are great…..
Jan
Love the blocks and really want some of the variegated thread….love it. Sisters is a beautiful little town and the best quilt show. We live an hour and a half away, a great place to go.
Thanks. Jan
Linda Fleming
It’s tough to choose a favorite today but I’ll go with the Grunge – those threads colors are beautiful too!
Thanks for all your hard work.
It’s been fun seeing your 12 days!
Cathy G
The blue block with the bird in the center is gorgeous and I’m not usually a blue person. I do love birds though, have lots of bird feeders up in the backyard and we get lots of woodpeckers, cardinals, chickadees, blue jays, nuthatches, and in the summer, hummingbirds. Lots of squirrels too. They keep my 4 cats entertained. Love your daily blogs on the 12 Days, very interesting and educational. Thanks so much!
Carolyn Montgomery
i love all of the colors you are using in these blocks. would love to win a daily prize or (be still my heart) the grand prixe. thanks for the chance to win.
Carolyn Montgomery
love all of your color choices, beautiful.
Sarah Vee
The prizes look so pretty! LOVE the variegated thread today – thanks for taking the photos close enough (and clear enough!) so we/I can write down the numbers!! Love the Anna Maria Horner block today – the middle fabric has so much movement to it. The fussy cut blue and white one is nice too. I found out of all the blocks from this series, that this is the one I would do a whole quilt of – which surprised me. You did a great job highlighting the possibilities here today. Thanks again 🙂
Elizabeth Johnson
Been gone and missed these two so maybe you are drawing tomorrow. I love the Kona block and grunge! I see those 50 wt thread thrown in as a prize (building my Aurifil collection). And lovely stacks of fabric
