Craft-a-Doodle!

Craft-a-Doodle!

And here’s another book to look at today.  Non quilting…..But Extremely good for those creative brain cells! I present to you, Craft-a-Doodle – 75 Creative Exercises from 18 Artists  by Jenny Doh for Lark Crafts.

I have heard about Jenny Doh for a very long time. She has been in the creative publishing world much longer than I have been, mostly in mixed media I think. I know that my friend Bari is actually a friend of Jenny’s and my wife Linda has had some mixed media or doll projects at least pass over Jenny’s desk in the past I think.  So when Lark Crafts wanted me to review Jenny’s book, I said of course, because I wanted to see what she has been up to lately.

Craft-a-Doodle is a killer little “exercise” book to get you thinking creatively and just generally remember that it’s fun to draw…and you CAN be creative with just a few pens and paper.

Some of the exercises are pretty basic and some get pretty complex for a “doodle” but they are all pretty rockin’ ….

I liked the Daily Doodles by Dawn DeVries Sokol

and since I wrote this review on vacation, I also got a chance to do some of this daily doodling as I went along.

And the faces by Cori Dantini and Teesha Moore

There was even a little embroidery doodling by Aimee Ray too!

If you like to draw or know someone who does, this book is terrific one!!   I think that might be the last “old” book I have to tell you about…I have at least three more…One of which comes which has a prize attached! woohoo!!

Until next time,

Piece out,

Scott
