Back from Market!

Back from Market!

Wow, what a great time! Except for my TERRIBLE Hotel  (It was cheap, and I did get exactly what I paid for) this Quilt Market was so fun!  My wife, Linda, and my daughter, Mimi, came with me and we had a wonderful trip down to Portland on the train.

I had a great time, but didn’t get many pictures at all from the Market floor….sigh…I was so busy talking to peeps, and my phone kept losing its charge, so I didn’t even get that many Instagram shots during Market. Mostly before and after! So many new friends, so many old friends, so many people whom I had only known online, I now know better because I met them in person.

I didn’t come home with a lot of goodies directly from Market, but I did get some new contacts for some new upcoming projects and such. Here’s the loot I did come away with:

• Books by friends, Tula Pink, Sarah Fielke, Cherri House, and Carl Hentsch.
• Vintage feed sacks from Mary Koval.
• Silk sari strings from Lelani Arts
• Coconut beads from the guy selling African baskets and what-not.
• Cool funky plastic animals for embellishing and some old pet license tags (I have no idea why I got these…but I will use them someday…maybe…)

I had a great time at the Yammertime party Thursday night. I finally got to meet Sarah Fielke who was pretty darn tired herself coming in from Oz that same day. But I got to meet her and that was quite delightful!  The Yam cupcakes at the party were terrific and the best part was this bag that I got to make with “Yam” potato stamps sponsored by Craftsy. I was in Portland, so of course I put a bird on it.

And I managed to get a few goodies to give away here on this little ole blog too. So below is my little gift pack to you from various vendors at Market. I may try to stick a few bits of new fabric from my stash into the pack as well. Just leave a comment about anything you want for an entry.
