Bar Hop Quiltalong: “H” Marks the Spot…..

Bar Hop Quiltalong: “H” Marks the Spot…..

Okay so today is my day on the Bar Hop. It is also my 23rd Wedding Anniversary. And I didn’t think about this when I designed my block, but now it seems kind of appropriate for the occasion as well, as the “H” marks the spot could be for the Hansen Household and all the Happy times we have had…..(and our share of Hard years as well….this being one of them as a matter of fact!) But H it is…..and so without further ado….

Here is the block:

I added the dark solid…I think it is Raisin from Kaufman’s vast solids collection, but I am not quite sure.  I also added Hospital Gown in citron from Michael Miller Fabrics. Oh, and in case you think I cheated…..those two reds are the same fabric. It is a pretty cool woven fabric that besides adding fun texture,  can be used with either side giving different looks. Gotta love that.

And here are the instructions.

And here are three blocks together that later will become a tablerunner….they have a somewhat Chinese design feel to me……even though most of the fabrics are from a Japanese designer emulating a vintage European style.

And here is a snapshot from the summer after our wedding all those years ago.  We were camping with my in-laws, and they were heavily into Mountain Man Re-enactment camping.  So these were our pre 1840 threads.

Sigh.  Those were the days…. and to think I felt fat THEN!!   😉

But THESE are the new days, and we will rejoice and be GLAD in them!!

And don’t forget tomorrow at 4PM Eastern to listen to Pat Sloan’s radio show on the internet! I am a guest, and Pat and I are going to chat a little about quilting, design, and color….some of my favorite topics in the world….AND I just saw the line-up! Incredible group, Tina Givens, Jay McCarroll, and Angela Walters!  I cannot believe I am talking amongst so many stars….it’s a pretty wonderful feeling!!

Hey!

I just figured it out…..H stands for Hop too…..wow, I am just SOOOOOO clever, aren’t I??
