249: Giveaway over at Charlie’s Place….
Hey there, today’s post is a shoutout to my buddy Charlie over in Kansas City who has a week long giveaway (he is way more organized then me on that scale…) and he has brought in a bunch of sponsors (including me!) giving away all sorts of great prizes with a grand prize of an Accuquilt Go!
Here is my contribution to the pile these 8 fat quarters….plus, I will probably throw in a scrap bag that I didn’t tell Charlie about just for something extra.
So pop on over to see Charlie and follow his directions for posting to win the above prize from me and all the other great prizes being by Charlie and his sponsors. While you are at it, you should check out Patchwork Squared, a new quilt design company started by Charlie and other friend Ryan Walsh.
It’s funny…… I have never met Charlie or Ryan in person, but we have this connection now…mainly through Twitter. They are both going to Houston Quilt Market, and I wish I could meet them there, but I can’t make it….so E-friends we will remain until Spring 2011 if we all make it to Salt Lake City.

I think it is great the number of male quilters that we are exposed to over the internet. Getting a man’s perspective sheds light on their ‘different’ thinking and creative processes….:) I was just over at CHarlie’s so thought I’d pop in to say I love that monkey fabric! I loved playing with my barrel of monkeys as a kid. Funny how today’s kids yawn all over that! They can’t sit still long enough…anyhoo….I want a GO!!

Charlie did know about the scrap bag. He has his ways of finding out info. You don’t know I can read minds did you? lol
that’s cuz I told you I think after I wrote this and didn’t know I was going to tell you….I think 🙂

Charlie sent me….grin. I never can figure out where to put my comments so this is probably not the right place.
Things that attract me used to be just colors, but now it is probably the use of values. I’m learning a little more about how to make things pop. Sometimes my stuff still gets tooooo busy, but I’m having fun using my stash. I used to do only kits with preselected fabrics. Now I’m digging into that stash I promised my husband I wouldn’t get. Yep, I’m always in trouble….LOL.
The only bad thing about using your stash is that you make a mess.

Charlie sent me. You asked what inspires you – for me its color first. I fall in love with a fabric, and then usually find a pattern. However, I am currently trying to make use of more fabrics in my quilts (not so matchy) and to make use of scraps – love AccuQuilt. Thank you for posting the downloadable patterns. “The Big Easy” and “Snowflower” have just been moved to the top of my list.

My mom came to visit and left me a Woman’s Day magazine. I was looking at their article on decorating with quilts & the first one was “designed by Blue Nickel Studios.” I let out a whoop! Congrats!

Well, you sent me to Charlie’s, and Charlie sent me back here. I have whiplash from the boomerang effect (actually my browser isn’t that fast!) Thank you for helping Charlie out with the giveaway. And in just reading the post that follows this one…congrats! Talk about a boomerang effect! You are everywhere! That is awesome! Good karma, my friend! Kudos!

Thanks for helping Charlie with his GO! giveaway 🙂 I especially like the hedgehogs and owls (okay the monkeys are cute, too). The warm colors are perfect for this time of year. I love using the colors of fall for inspiration in creating quilts to add warmth to an otherwise bleak winter season.

Oh my goodness I’m sooooooo excited that I won!! You do know I have a fabric addiction, and I LOVE fabric almost as much as I love chocolate milkshakes.
