170: more Non-typical Market photos and an ARGGH…
What is an ARGGH? well, that is the sound I make (amongst others) when I have something I need to do like pay the bills or weed-whack….thankfully the bills are done (for the moment, they are like laundry and the dishes, they lurk in tall grass, and then surprise they are there again….quite regularly) I am thankful I can pay my bills but I digress….yet again….
Anyway the Arggh is a good news/bad news thing…..and it specifically is writing directions for my most recent quilts. The good news is I have three quilts to write directions for…the bad news is I have three quilts to write directions for. For me, the direction part is not the fun part. I want them to be correct, and I get stressed over making mistakes that will screw up someone else’s project! When I am creating a project, I don’t mind mistakes, but I don’t want others to be frustrated with my errors. The good news is two of these instructions you will be able to get free online….soon I hope, and so do my friends at Free Spirit….they are for the Be a Man quilt and the Christmas Snowflower quilt. The third is for a different Christmas quilt coming out in a magazine this winter….enough said, I gotta post you all some pictures here and get back to those directions…
hotel room carpet…a quilt pattern perhaps? something is there….
the elevator lobby on floor seven (probably floors 1-6 too…don’t remember noticing them)
view from my room…I liked this building for some reason….maybe all the grids going on?
there was something about this motif that intrigued me….something little but interesting….to me at least….
hotel wallpaper ….blender fabric?
Honestly compared to OTHER Market photos, I know these are tame and offbeat, but well if you came you can find all sorts of other “exciting” stuff on other blogs….sometimes at the Blue Nickel here, I just want a little calmness…
yeah, whatever….
thanks for stopping by…after I get these directions written, I think I can come up some more interesting things….like finds from garage sale run weeks ago and other stuff….oh, and I have a giveaway planned…
Lator Gators!

Oh boy, good luck with those instructions. I use to design needlework and punch needle patterns. Definitely the hard part is the instructions. Arghhh! I’m sure you will do a great job. I look forward to seeing the free patterns on Free Spirit.
BTW, I love the photos! I feel like I’m taking a design class reading your blog. I’m starting to look at patterns in everything now. Thanks for the inspiration. Have a great day.

Hi Scott
I agree that wallpaper would make great blender fabric.
And that building was really cool…the world around us is full of possible quilts =o)
Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I know what you mean about the instructions….that is my least favorite part too, that is why an editor is necessary, they make you sound so good! I love all your inspirations, I sketch from strange things like your photos….like the air vent dial on a Delta airplane became the flower for one of the blocks in my quilt, Ruby Red Dots…you go for it!!
