148: And the answer is….
and here it is quilted and bound:
I was pretty pleased with the quilting. It is not perfect, but I think I am getting better at it, and that is a good feeling! Maybe someday, I can get a bigger machine! I really liked the blue peacocks at first in the quilt, but as put together the other pieces particularly the rose block…I thought the blue block was TOO much contrast, and that the whole quilt should have a sunny “California” look to it, so I went back to white, which I thing was my original inclination…oh I can’t remember that far back…who knows what I was thinking!
And now for the winner of my little giveaway here…….
the winner is John! who thought he wouldn’t win, cause the first comment never wins! And it was fair an square..no testoterone bonding here…my oldest son drew John’s name from a bowl, and he had no idea what he was drawing for!… Ha, see when you have 12 comments and you do things the old fashioned way with slips of paper ….anyone can win John! So John, you have to send me a private email and I will get your address and all…I did think later that I should check with Free Spirit before I gave away fabric that quilt stores don’t even have yet, and I am glad I did check. I can’t send the fabric until April 1st…but John, you can get ready for it, and have a plan in action already.
That’s all for tonight folks…it’s been a long week already… I have more pics of a variety of projects and inspirations…and another giveaway, but that will have to wait until the next time or two! Thanks for reading and all the great comments…Peace to all!
Elaine

Hello Scott!
Wow! I’m so glad to have found your blog via flickr. The quilt looks so good! In your last post you asked about Monaco’s big rose medallion print coming out in other colorways, but it’s just that one. The quilt is beautiful, I always love seeing what people do with my fabrics. Oh, and I loved the photos you posted of your spools of thread tucked up on branches. Please feel free to visit my blog as well at denadesigns.com to see more of my new fabric collections and other fun things. Have a great day!
xo,
Dena
