Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!!

Yup…January 4th and I am just getting a Happy New Year’s Greeting to you…so much for THAT resolution.

If you are a regular here, you know how chaotic 2012 has been for me.  If I remembered to tell you.  I think I told you some of it in bits and pieces here…. and on Facebook ….. and Twitter…..maybe…..

Anyway, it was nuts…..

I actually did get some sewing done in December….

These I got done for the kids almost in time for Christmas morning with their presents…..

pillowcase gifts

okay…. they were laid out on their dinner chairs for Christmas Day Dinner, but they got them the  same day at least. The easy peasy pattern is by the fabulous Jona found here.

I didn’t get done these fabric storage buckets done in time to mail out for Christmas, but the recipients will likely be happy with them I think.

I made them using this fabulous tutorial by Ashley at Film in the Fridge….and well, I like ’em so much I made two of them to keep….and likely will make more as I spend a lot of time this January and February on getting my studio back in line (it is a total disaster area right now…and has been for the last  6 months…even worse than normal [which is very bad]).
Oh and since cleaning up is on the agenda, and so I am finally getting to the prize drawing that I had at the end of October. 56 of you commented, and I bet most of you forgot! Well, one of you just got an email from me and that lucky winner is Robin who wrote:

My latest project was a quilt in aquas and black for a sweet little girl I know. I know – you’re thinking “black? for a little girl?” but it turned out darling, and she loves it. :)

Robin your prize is in the mail to you right now…you may have already even received it! Thanks to everyone for stopping by and commenting!

I have also decided to try my best to link up with the peeps at Folk Magazine to do this weekly journal project.  We’ll see how well that goes.  I love this magazine, and since my Blue Nickel ‘byline’ is “Urban Folk — Modern Design, Timeless Style”  I figure hanging out with the Folk peeps just makes good sense.  Like I said, time will tell if I can keep it up!

How’s your New Year starting out??
