The great folks at Sew Mama Sew! are hosting Giveaway Day

and I have finally gotten my act together and have something prepared ahead of time. I have seen this event come and go many times, always after the fact, so I am glad to be participating this round!

If you are new to Blue Nickel Studios, welcome! If you have been visiting before, thanks and welcome back! this is one of those posts you need to stop lurking around and drop a comment into win…..if you want to that is…if not, happily lurk away, I know how time is precious, and heaven knows I lurk at many of my favorite blogs.

Simple post today because we are all so crazy busy….well, I am at least…I bet you are too!

That’s it…and no it doesn’t have to be Christmas or a Winter Holiday song…..I’d even take “Little Bunny Foo-foo” (I “suppose” you could call that an Easter song….I suppose….) I will ship internationally…but it could take awhile from here. All postal services seem to be slowing down lately I think. Drawing will close on December 16th and winner will be announced here by the 18th.

I think I like Jingle Bells the best. And Silent Night is good too. Oh and Kenny Chesney’s “All I Want For Christmas Is A Real Good Tan” I will always love because my daughter learned to sing Kenny songs when she was little and I have a recording of her singing that. And anything Harry Connick Jr sings. Okay I’ll quit.

While I do love ‘Little Bunny Foo Foo’ and used to sing it with my girls all the time, they are now 8 & 10, and I had to find another favorite song My favorite holiday song now is a tie (since I’m indecisive) between the Glee Cast version of Last Christmas & Christmas Cookies by George Strait.

Oh my gosh! I totally remember singing and acting out Little Bunny Foo Foo from a tape with my son when he was a toddler. I think I loved it more than he did and now I’ll be going all day with “Little Bunny Foo foo running through the forest…” in my head. Fave Christmas song for fun is Rocking around the Christmas tree, fave spiritual is Oh Holy Night. I love the chills I get when someone reaches the high notes really well. Question. I couldn’t tell in one of the pictures above of what looks like a floral on burlap or yarn or fabric what is that? (I love it)

That floral on Burlap??...I THINK is a piece for show saddle thingie…it has an odd shape and we got it from a friend’s mom. It was made in the 70’s and has a really weird shape. They had a lot of “horse” stuff…and the only thing I can think of is a saddlebag maybe? The crewel work is very beautiful and thick.

As a follower of your blog, I have enjoyed all your tutorials, free patterns and of your music. Now, you have a wonderful bundle to give away. There isn’t a quilter among us that would not treasure this gift. I appreciate all that you do and your hard work for all of us. I hope you have time to enjoy Christmas. My all-time favorite Christmas album is Behold the Lamb of God by Andrew Peterson. It tells the Christmas story starting with humanity’s story in Genesis. It’s absolutely beautiful! But, if I have to pick a favorite song, it would be Labor of Love from that album. Seriously beautiful. You should check it out!

My favorite holiday song is the 12 days of Christmas. But my sister and and I made up new lyrics long ago. We sing it every year, ending up in giggling heaps upon the floor. It’s not even that it’s so funny, it’s just a sister thing.

My all time favorite holiday song is Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail. My grandmother used to sing that to me when I was very little. It will always be a good memory for me.
