One Fabric Nation – Color Brigade

One Fabric Nation – Color Brigade

Honestly, I Just LOVE everything Jennifer Paganelli does. Her fabric design and color sense really speak to me. Well, serenade me is more like it.

Full, rich, and over the top.

Sheer joy to my soul.

Seriously.

ColorBrigade is a perfect example.  Lush florals and highly detailed damask like patterns. And a fun tiled geometric.

Very reminiscent of the fifties.

So for today’s post, I decided to cut up a bunch of 3 1/2″ squares and play with them on the design wall.

dsc_3603

So much fun setting up different combinations!

dsc_3601

The blocks below are based on a quilt from Kaffe Fassett’s book Heritage Quilts.

The blocks in Kaffe’s book are larger with more rows radiating out, but I just wanted to see how they shaped up and how the colors and patterns played together.

Quite fun!

Check out my Instagram page for the short video I created while playing with them.

And to help celebrate fall’s glorious colors in the northern hemisphere, I thought we should have a little giveaway of Color Brigade courtesy of the wonderful people at Free Spirit Fabrics!

So please leave a comment on this post telling me about some of your current favorite colors right now or your thoughts on Color Brigade itself. I will draw three names next Tuesday, October 18th. Each one of the winners will win one of these little fat quarter bundles below.

dsc_3613Here’s to sweet dreaming in color! (Day or night!)

Keep sewing, keep happy,

These fabrics are beautiful. I especially love the floral on an aqua background. Right now I find myself working with a lot of gray fabrics. It is a great neutral.

  • Thanks for the chance to win some lovely fabric goodies! My current favorite color is teal, because it goes so beautifully with the bright red, orange and yellow Fall colors we’re experiencing in Massachusetts right now. Jennifer Paganelli is my all-time favorite fabric and pattern designer, because I love the colors she uses, and her prints range from softly pretty to wildly retro, and they all seem to coordinate with each other, regardless of which line they are from. I think Color Brigade is perfect for Fall sewing, because I’m seeing a lot of the maroons, yellows, and browns in the changing leaves right now.
