Sizzix Organizing Giveaway

Sizzix Organizing Giveaway

And as promised, here is today’s incredible giveaway! (if this is your first time at the Blue Nickel-Welcome!  You can read the intro to today’s post here.)

I am sucker for beautiful organized spaces. Probably because in the past I have been so poor at keeping it that way ( I am GOING to CHANGE that, remember?)

So LAST WINTER when I was going to do this big cleanup project in January, Linda over at Sizzix sent me a bunch of cool diecuts to create some useful and beautiful organizing bits. Not only did she send ME some, but she also sent some for one of YOU. Okay, I shouldn’t say “some” — she sent a BIG PILE of stuff for you. So since I knew you weren’t ready for it last winter either — cough, cough….. 🙂  🙂  I waited until now to do the giveaway post.
So here’s what Linda sent me:

These little cards for winding up floss:

floss winders

Love how floss looks on these. I have a LOT more to wind up, but I thought I would show you a sampling of what I have started with.
She also sent these larger similar winders. I will put more ribbon and other large fibers and ric-rac that I buy but rarely use (I will be working on using up what I have once I get them all organized).

ribbon winders

Then there are these dividers that fit in those standard photo boxes. Will work for all sorts of things!

And then lastly there are these Fat Quarter Folding Card shapes. Kind of fun for Fat quarters. Normally FQ’s are hard to fold to a decent size I think. This works pretty well if the paper you use is stiff enough. I tried regular card stock, it was too flimsy.  Note the Cream Puff cardboard. This is a great way to recycle and be cool and thrifty! (my apologies for the yellow photo — learning a new photo editing program and I could NOT get this one right!)

fat quarter folder

I used all sorts of paper and cardboard for for these. Old Christmas cards, Stationary box lids, post cards, shoe boxes, food boxes that didn’t actually touch food. etc.  So much better than tossing or throwing straight into the recycling bin.

And So now for the FUN part!! The Giveaway! Yes, THIS WHOLE STACK  below will be going out to one lucky winner (US only this time – as I have to ship them from the studio here)  To win, please leave a comment here saying what you need to organize most this fall.  AND to increase your chances to win, go over to my Instagram account and find the below picture.  When you find that picture on Instagram, tag two or three friends there. A finalist will be picked at random from IG and the Blog, and then I will draw between those two names (unless they are BOTH your name) for the ultimate winner!  I will draw the name next Thursday morning – September 15th and let them know by email. If I do not hear back from them in a few days, I will notify the runner up and then let you know who ultimately won after that!

Big Sizzix Prize

So leave those comments. And jump on Instagram too! And Get Organizing!

Update: Drawing is now closed. Winner will be contacted shortly.

Talk to you soon!

Keep Sewing, Keep Happy,

Scott

I need to organize my fabric. I was using Quiltology, and while it is great for making blocks and things, it is taking a Loooooong time to put in all my fabric. I need a better system. (there is also the issue of my ipad camera not really being that great and having color issues)

Well Scott, I must say that my whole sewing regime needs an overhaul! Organization always get thrown to the back burner in a busy schedule! But, if I should pick one thing!…I would say my fabrics need organized. I keep lots of yard and have several fat quarters. I would love to see them out where I can pick and choose instead of heading to the fabric shop for more. (I do love going to those shops though!)

    September 7, 2016 at 5:15 am
  • Ribbons would be the thing that I most need to organize – a drawer full of tangles.

I moved my whole sewing room into a walk-in closet early this year to make room for a baby nursery. Organization is key to making the system work and my hobbies (quilting, embroidery, doll making, and knitting) could all benefit from these dies. Those are the cutest floss bobbins I’ve seen!
