BTS — Back to Sewing

BTS — Back to Sewing

BTS — Back to Sewing — The Big Cleanup!

Okay, well, it’s not like I quit sewing over the summer…..more like I stopped cleaning….oh, alright, the studio has never been tidy…..but it has been tidier in the past and this summer it got more out of hand than it has been in quite some time. (I actually did have a big cleaning week a couple years back but it was NOT DEEP enough!!)

So since the kids are going (BTS) back to school and we are all getting Back To Sewing again,  I am inviting you to accompany me on a journey this fall (and into winter I imagine).  I plan on writing a series of posts with “before-and-after” pictures of  every little section of the studio as I go through it. There will be giveaways, and there will be special one-of-a-kind stuff for sale in the Blue Nickel Shop. I will also get BACK to the Splendid Sampler (sort of a BTSS 🙂  ) . I was actually ahead in March of this year, but now I am with many of the other Splendid “Samplists” and behind. Along the way there will be posts about different fabric lines and projects…but a lot of the projects will be UFO’s that are ancient but WILL be getting FINISHED this year.

And to get started, I am going to show you the first corner that I will work on (After I finish one last top secret magazine project of the year).

This picture is from a few years ago when I did actually get it a little cleaner than it had been at that time (but still not good enough really).

Here it is today:

Futon Corner 9-5-16 before clean up1
Not so good, huh?

So feel free to join me and watch as I clean this mess up and get back to sewing eventually!!

Remember, I mentioned Giveaways earlier in this post??  Well, tune back in tomorrow because I have got a DOOZY of a giveaway then. I want EVERYONE  and their mother’s second cousins to enter.

Hint about tomorrow’s prize >> Crank, cut and organize the speedy way!

That’s it for today.
Talk to you tomorrow. Today I have to go sew some more on that top secret project and get tomorrow’s giveaway ready!!

Keep Sewing, Keep Happy,

Scott

I am sooo glad I am not the only one with a sewing room that looks like a storm went thru.

OMG … That looks like my bedroom/Quilt studio. I think I need to challenge myself to sort things out and then go up in the attic where my personal “fabric shop” is located and reduce my inventory by at least half!

I just found your website and the pictures of your work area are so healing to me, you’ll never know how I beat myself up mentally about the clutter (to some) but sense (to me) my craft areas often become. I am comfy with them but your sharing is too good.
