So lookie here, I managed to get PART Two of Windham Weekend up and going. Are you excited? I am!

Today I bring you two lines at once and though they are quite different, they can be fun together as demonstrated by the lead-in photo above!

Saturday of Windham Weekend is brought to you by the HEATHERS of Windham Fabrics. Heather Givans and Heather Ross. I have yet to meet Heather Ross in person, but I have loved her work for years. And Heather Givans? There is no way anyone cannot love her or her enthusiasm for all things creative. Both designers give a great line up! Heather G’s line comes out in stores June this year and Heather R’s is out there now, and likely selling fast so you better get some pronto if you haven’t already scooped some up.

We’ll start alphabetically by Last Name —

Paper Obsessed by Heather Givans coming to stores in June.

Based on mailing envelopes,  security linings, airmail, paper airplanes,  letters and Heather’s very own stamp designs!

There is mostly a lot of grey, blue, and white with that zippy little bit of legal pad yellow and just a touch of red. Fabulous low-key background prints that will let more boisterous prints shine!

Yeah, I made more of Monica’s Bags. They are obsessive I tell you! I am always so delighted when they work every time. Never ceases to amaze me. I know, I am easily entertained!

The Paper Airplane print has got to be my favorite! With the sheets of paper and notebooks as my second favorite, but that might be tied with the yellow legal paper.

And then we have Mendocino by Heather Ross – in stores now.

Really what is there more to say about having Mendocino back from Heather Ross? It’s just incredible. This line was printed with another company years ago (Free Spirit Fabrics – I am pretty sure) and it really is just one of her classics. I have some of the original buried — well, I know where it is, but I haven’t really compared it to the new stuff. Word is that there are new tweaks in the colors, but I am not knowledgeable enough to know what they were. Feel free to tell me in the comments below.

The Seahorse and mini octopuses make great tonal-blenders with just a pop of an accent color. And the mermaids are super for fussy cutting OR  just letting the cut- lines fall where they may and see where they poke their pretty little heads out!

More nine patches and bags!

That’s a wrap for this line. I may not have said a lot, but I think the pictures pretty much do a lot of speaking for themselves.  Make sure you comment on today’s post and yesterday’s post as well as The next couple of Windham posts. Every comment is entered to win a scrapbox of Windham Fabrics. Can’t guarantee the mix, but there will be at least a little bit of each line shown this weekend!

Keep Sewing, Keep Happy,
Scott

My favorite piece of all time is Heather R with the little schools of fish. It’s just too cute. I like the paper Obsessed also, something new for a light background.

Paper Obsessed just might spur me on to make the envelope quilt that’s been on my list for years. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

Both of these fabric lines are great. The Paper Obsessed belongs with me. Love the low volume work themed prints. And Mendocino prints and colors are perfect to create something wonderful. Clever use of the Windham ribbons as handles for the Monica’s bags. I have started saving all of my fabric ribbons lately.
