Mr. September

Mr. September

The things we do for friends……Okay so my friend Megan from Generation Q has done this calendar for years. She started with it to help her brother with his fight against Brain Cancer. This year he lost that battle.  But Megan is still fighting for others (correction: I misunderstood where the funds generated from the sales of these calendars was going.  The funds will be going to help Megan’s brother’s family pay off the bills still left after his death and for a college fund for his son. Still helping people, just not as broadly.  Megan wanted me to make sure that was clear. And I didn’t realize that when I first posted this! My bad…but still, you should definitely buy one. If you buy one and bring it to Quilt Market,  I would be happy to sign it for you….)  by still creating her Quilter’s Shirtless Man and Spicy Burrito Calendar (don’t ask me, this is Megan’s baby) .  I have always had very bad self-image problems because I always think I am supposed to  look like this with my shirt off:

des-hommes-et-des-chatons-men-and-cats-34

And not this, which is what I feel I look like:

fat-men-mankini

Clearly, I do have issues….and you likely have issues yourself  now thanks to this pictorial sharing of my issues here.

But even though I do not look as “hot” as the first guy (who is probably so into himself that he is CLEARLY not LIKEABLE 🙂 ),  I am not quite as bad off as the next group (although you MUST give them kudos for their self confidence!!) I decided to give a go at Megan’s calendar because it was fun, and NONE of the guys in her past calendars looked like the first guy pictured here, so I figured the “competition” in this calendar was more to my level of  “manliness”……Oh, and did I forget to mention that BESIDES being Mr. September in Megan’s project, she went and made me the cover boy too??

I really don’t know whether to be mortified or proud. I know what my daughter will be when she finds out! And Linda just laughed this morning when we saw it posted on the Wild Wild West of the Internet. The good news is I won’t be running for any elected office anytime soon, and who knows it may boost readership here! (any publicity is good publicity? :/ )

I didn’t do it to make myself feel better without my shirt on. That would require me going totally vegan, actually working out regularly and some skin tightening cream too.  But I did it to do my part at helping Megan fight cancer.  So if you can help, please purchase your copy here.  And I won’t at all mind if you go ahead and tape Channing Tatum’s torso over mine when it comes to September; I’d be fine with that.  (the good thing about being on the cover? It gets turned over first thing. 🙂 )

And if you want to send ME money for a gym membership or the tanning salon because you feel sorry for my wife, or believe that it’s totally possible for me to look like Channing by swimsuit season 2018, that’s okay by me too.

Have a great rest of  2013 and be on time in 2014….

Cheers,

Scott

    Scott,

Blessings to you for posing for the calendar. It is a good cause! You show great loyalty to your friends, and bravery for posing — how many men who aren’t Channing Tatum would be brave enough to pose?! (Well, 20 this year! 😉 )

Congratulations on being chosen for the cover! And, kudos to your wife for taking such stunning photos that you could be chosen to grace the cover! 🙂

    Blessings

I’m just glad the group pic above is a view from the front & not the rear!

I think you look just fine! A real man is defined by his character and winning smile! It seems you have both! And your wife seems to know that too! She took a great pic of you! What a wonderful gift you have given to help others!

  • Scott you always make me laugh one way or another. Good for you and your wife for being brave and helping a worthy cause. A tan would be nice but then only fake people have even all over tans. Kind of curious what the rear view of the group shot looks like . . . it’s not a pleasant thought.
