Blog Hop Party!

Blog Hop Party!

Welcome to the Blue Nickel stop on the Blog Hop Party tour!  I am helping Michele celebrate Quilting Gallery’s 4th Birthday party!

So welcome to the party.  Hope you enjoy what you find here at the Blue Nickel.  please feel free to check out previous posts and other pages here.  I know that I am not the best at some upkeep things on the extra pages here, but I have been doing some fairly regular posts.  Mostly quilty stuff shows up, but there is more to me than quilts so there are other posts too…

I know you are busy running around these blogs all day today,  most likely along with a few other things you might be doing this month. So I don’t intend on taking a lot of your time.  I am just posting some  pix from our studio and home and then at the end the picture of the giveaway pack

And here is the Blue Nickel Prize for the Blog Hop Party, an assortment of springy type fabrics for those in the Northern Hemisphere to dream about  coming, and for the Southern hemisphere to enjoy right now (12 Pleasingly Plump Fat Quarters):

Please leave a comment telling me either what is on your kitchen table today or what is your favorite holiday ornament.  I know, two very random and different choices there.   I will randomly pick from the comments next Saturday the 17th.   Also stop by here again on Monday the 12th for the Sew Mama Sew! giveaway as well, with a different prize to choose from!

  • My kitchen table is holding all the Christmas presents we bought yesterday. I have to get them hidden this morning, since my grandson will be here later today! So much for the rules–now I just need to tell you how much I like your work. I’ve been following your blog for a while now and it’s been fun seeing your hard work get more and more recognition. Thanks for sharing with us!

  • The mail is currently on my kitchen table. LOL! When I get home, though, there will be grilled cheese (made with rosemary sourdough and Dubliner cheese) and roasted red pepper and tomato bisque. The perfect comfort food combination on a day that will have a high only in the teens. Gotta keep up my strength for all the quilting I’m trying to finish before Christmas!

My kitchen table right now is a disaster. There is a small calculotor with checking account paperwork; quilting supplies and material for a quilt I’m trying to work on and Christmas wrapping paper, scotch tape and recipe ideas. The most fun part is a vey persistant and noisy cat that wants to check all of this out – for me and for her. My favorite ornament would be the deer one. I just love deer. I also enjoy your blog very much. All of the pictures; the videos and all of your clever ideas. Thank you for a chance to win and have yourself a very merry Christmas.

  • My first table topper is on my kitchen table (really needs to be updated!), a fruit stand (that has no fruit in it or my little guy would be taking bites and putting them back), and a broken handmade plate that my little girl made (it’s broken because my little guy threw it on the floor).

My favorite ornament is anything snowman. I have collected them for years; however, I limit myself to one a year and it really has to “speak” to me. My table has several items my father brought to me over Thanksgiving from my grandmother, who passed away many years ago. They are interesting reminders of time gone by.

I can barely see the top of my kitchen table right now. My 9 yr. old daughter has taken it over. It has her paper crafting supplies and markers with projects in various stages of completion on it. She decided she would make the gift tags this year :-). She also has her huge basket of nail polish sitting there in case of a nail disaster (while working with all that paper, it could happen). The Hello Kitty cd player is waiting on the far corner to be part of an impromtu dance recital. I do see my orange Fiestaware candle holders peeking out from the middle of the table. Yep, it’s time to change those for something more Christmasy. Thanks for a chance to win.

  • After reading the other comments, I don’t feel so guilty about the fact that my kitchen table is covered with today’s mail and coupons for Christmas sales.

My favorite ornaments to place on the tree are assorted German glass fruits and vegetables that my children bought each year when they were little. My birthday is the week before Christmas so my husband would take them to a year round Christmas tree shop and they would each pick an ornament for my birthday. Some women have jewelry, I have Christmas ornaments.

  • My favorite ornament is a little handmade Irish girl. When money was very tight, myself and a neighbor used oak-tag paper, wooden beads (for the head) and yarn and felt to make little doll ornaments dressed in the garb of many countries. Even though I can say that now times are not tough for us, these remain on my tree and always will as a reminder of how we can still be happy even when we are struggling! Even though you didn’t ask, right up there with this ornament would be the few ornaments I have that were made by my children many years ago.

Today there is a huge bag filled with Christmas presents on my kitchen table – we’re leaving right after my husband finishes work for the day to go have an early Christmas with family in Kentucky.

  • Hey, there. I’m from the north Georgia mountains (USA) and on my kitchen table is a basket I made with peanuts in it. Next to that is a jadite 1950s small mixing bowl with peanut SHELLS!

On my kitchen table is a stack of mail and bills that I really need to sort through. I just haven’t had the time because I’ve been too obsessed with all these fabulous giveaways!
    Your decorations are very festive!

Thanks for the wonderful opportunity to win that lovely bundle of fabric goodness!
    Have a Merry Christmas!

  • Oi, I hate to say this but my kitchen table has a few dirty cups, a large pile of paperwork, some books and a tissue box on it at the moment… Maybe I can make a nice table topper to distract from all of that if I win these fabrics!

On my kitchen table today is a container of white chocolate gingerbread cookies (yummy with coffee), a container of sugared walnuts a couple of recipes for the next batch of goodies to be made and a very large messy stack of bowls and plates to fill for neighbors and friends. Oh and a plant that is outgrowing its pot! Merry Christmas!

My favorite ornament has changed several times this holiday season. At first I loved these wonderful beaded ornaments I found on Etsy made by TFDelta (absolutely gorgeous!) Then my 2 year old brought home his first ornaments made in preschool. I am in love! He has a pinecone drizzled with glue then topped with glitter, and a paper plate wreath that he pasted some green tissue paper to. I was so excited to hang them on our tree!
Thank-you for the chance to win!

My kitchen table is a mess as it also is my sewing table. So I have fabric, cutting items, a plant and our bible on the table.

  • Are you sure you want to know what is on my kitchen table? Really? Ok…you asked….papers…and lots of them. A variety of kids homework, my husbands recent medical appointment documents, some coupons and some drawings my children have made….scary mess of a table!

I collect Christopher Radko ornaments so those are my favorites…I like the shiny colors.

    Smiles,
    Kelly

  • My kitchen table is buried in wrapping paper right now. I was going to work on wrapping some things this evening, but I have to get all these entries in before tomorrow – ha.

  • I don’t have a kitchen table right now, so the ornament it is – my favorite is a little cross-stitched mailbox (on that plastic-type base) with a working flag and these teeny-tiny letters to Santa inside. They usually don’t change, but every few years a new one will mysteriously appear.
Thanks for the opportunity to win! 🙂

  • Gifts that need to be wrapped are on my kitchen table and yesterday’s mail. I like Hallmark series ornaments. Merry Christmas! Kd

  • Love those fabrics!

My favorite Christmas ornament is a fish that my father bought for me at Corning glass ware. It is a fish very pretty.

My favorite ornament is a little sheep that I received as a gift several years ago from a ‘secret sister’ exchange at church. It was the beginnings of a sheep collection that is still going strong. It reminds me of the tender care we receive from our Shepherd…especially this time of year!! Be blessed!

  • What is on my table? A brand new Christmas table runner I just received from a friend.
