139: Ahhhh, December!!

139: Ahhhh, December!!

Someone please remind me that I should never make commitments anywhere near December!  I have not yet finished the doll quilt I am to send for the Doll Quilt Swap 5 round, and I have not finished the gift I started for a Christmas exchange that I started myself….what is my problem???

Here is a big culprit into why those other two aren’t finished.  These are a few photos from the progression of the quilt I made for Free Spirit for Jay McCarroll’s new lines coming out to the store soon.

The fabric:

I had to narrow the 50+ different prints down to a manageable 15 or so….talk about a tough decision.  Here is the center of the quilt up on the design wall…  And here is the finished quilt:     This Sunday I am working on writing up the patterns for this quilt and the one I did for Anna Maria Horner’s new line coming out next spring.  I know the pattern for this quilt will be available online soon, and Anna Maria’s might be online, I am not 100% sure on that.

I have other news, but I need to close this for now, and get to work on all those other things including the neglected projects listed above as well as work, family, and 65 other projects that I should have known not to start….   🙂

  • Wow Scott – you may have a lot of things that you don’t get done but I’m amazed at what you do get done. You’re right, you probably should shut your mind off to a few of the inspirations and ideas or pray that this can become your day job. Do you get to keep all of that wonderful fabric?

  • Hey, Scott, you are not alone in the “taking on more projects than you actually have time for” category. I managed to finish my dollquilt on time and got it in the mail but now I await the recipients receipt of the package (would there have been an easier way to say that?). I just hope the thing isn’t lost in the mail as I think it’s the one package I didn’t insure because I was on time and it was just a little quilt and it would get there just fine. Right? I signed on for way more ornament swaps than I should have and tonight I put them all in packages and tomorrow I will go to the post office with them. I am two weeks late in getting them out. Now if I had been on time, then when I took them to the post office it would have been, oh, maybe in the 30’s at that time, but no, tomorrow I must go out and the temperature is not expected to rise above 0 degrees. Right now I think it’s about 15 below!! Soooooooo, I have learned my lesson…………do not sign up for swaps! Well, maybe just one, yep, just one. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggggghhhhhhhhtttttttt! Now I have to try to pull together the finishing touches on gifts for my kids, mother and grandson in the next four days! I am definitely taking a break after Christmas!! If I don’t get back before then I hope you have a Merry one!!!
